Practical Issues



The conference sessions will be held at the Memorial Union on the Arizona State University’s Tempe Campus. The campus is a 20-minute ride from Sky Harbor Airport via the Valley Metro Rail Service. The Memorial Union has wi-fi connectivity and seminar rooms are equipped with projectors. The MU also has several restaurant choices.

There is currently an issue with the ASU travel portal for Tempe Mission Palms hotel. Visa, Vaccinations, Insurance


The U.S. Department of State issues visas to foreign nationals traveling to the United State through its embassies or consulates. However, you do not need a visa for business travel or vacation travel if you are a citizen of any of the 38 countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program. There are no vaccination requirements for visitors to the United States at this time.


All participants are responsible for their own health care and travel insurance at their own cost. The Conference Organizers and the IASC are not liable for any costs incurred in case a participant has not arranged proper insurance.



The closest airport to Arizona State University is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. For more information about Sky Harbor and it’s amenities visit

Public Transportation

Valley Metro Services include:

  • Metro Rail traveling East and West throughout the Phoenix Metro area and includes service to Sky Harbor Airport and ASU Tempe Campus.
  • Tempe Streetcar traveling around downtown Tempe and includes services to locations near campus, area hotels, and many dining and entertainment venues in downtown Tempe.
  • Tempe Orbit bus service offering FREE rides around the City of Tempe including several routes around ASU and local hotels and dining venues.
